De Groote Peel National Park is one of the is richest bird areas in Western Europe. The quiet, space and darkness attracts hundreds of species of breeding and migratory birds to this Dutch border region between North Brabant and Limburg.

De Peel was once an impenetrable swamp where peat cutters searched for ‘the black gold’ Now, walking and cycling routes with watchtowers and boardwalks take you through the Natura 2000 area. Start your exploration from De Peel Nature Gate in Deurne or Buitencentrum De Pelen (outdoor centre) in Ospel.
